Arizona home with a dark shingle roof after emergency roof repair work

What to do in the next ten minutes

First, keep it simple and keep everyone safe. Buckets under the drips, furniture and electronics moved out of the way, rugs rolled back. If water is running anywhere near a light fixture, a ceiling fan or an outlet, go shut that circuit off at the breaker before you deal with anything else.

If a section of ceiling is bulging and holding water, a small hole poked at the low point lets it drain where you choose instead of bringing the whole sheet of drywall down — do it with the area cleared and the power to that circuit off.

And stay off the roof. A wet tile roof during a monsoon is genuinely dangerous, and tile cracks under foot traffic, which turns one leak into several. Photograph what you can see from the ground and from inside, then call us at (623) 581-0484.

When it's genuinely urgent

  • Water actively dripping or running into the house
  • A ceiling that's sagging, bulging or showing a spreading wet patch
  • Water near light fixtures, fans, outlets or the electrical panel
  • Wind has lifted or removed a section of tile or shingles and rain is forecast
  • A tree limb or debris has come down on the roof
  • Any sign of structural movement — a sagging roofline or cracked ceiling
  • You've just come home from a trip to a soaked ceiling and don't know how long it ran

How we respond

01Talk it through on the phone

We ask what you're seeing and where, and tell you what to do immediately to limit the damage. That part costs nothing.

02Stop the water getting in

Once it's safe to be on the roof, the first priority is protecting the opening so interior damage stops growing. That's temporary by design, and we say so.

03Find the real cause

With the emergency contained we trace where the water actually entered — which, as always, is often well away from where it showed up inside.

04Permanent repair, in writing

An itemized written proposal with clear pricing, plus documentation and photos if you're going to file an insurance claim.

Why monsoon season creates emergencies here

A roof that's been quietly deteriorating in the sun for years can go from fine to flooding in a single afternoon, because a Phoenix monsoon doesn't test a roof gently. Sixty-mile-an-hour gusts, sideways rain, and an inch of water in half an hour will find any weakness that's developed since the last storm.

That's also why every roofer in the Valley is slammed in July and August, and why the same repair is easier, cheaper and less stressful in April. If you've had an emergency this season, the useful follow-up is a full inspection before the next one — so the next storm isn't another phone call at 9pm.

We're a family-owned operation, not a call center. You'll talk to the people who'll be on your roof.

Common Questions

What counts as a roofing emergency?
Water actively coming into the house, a ceiling that's sagging or bulging, water near light fixtures or electrical, a section of roof opened up by wind, or anything structural. A stain that hasn't grown in a year isn't an emergency — it's still worth an inspection, just not a scramble.
What should I do while I wait?
Get buckets under the drips, move furniture and valuables clear, and pull up rugs. If water is anywhere near a light fixture or outlet, shut that circuit off at the breaker. A small hole poked in a bulging ceiling to let water drain in a controlled spot saves the whole ceiling — but only if the area is clear and the power is off. Stay off the roof.
Can you fix it in the middle of a storm?
Not permanently, and nobody reputable will tell you otherwise — materials need a dry surface to bond and nobody should be on a wet roof in a monsoon. The first job is stopping water from getting in, and the permanent repair follows once conditions allow.
Is emergency work more expensive?
Temporary protection is its own piece of work, so it shows on the proposal as its own line — no hidden surcharges, and you'll see the price before we do it. The permanent repair is quoted the same way we'd quote it any other week.
